New faces

It really struck me today that we are very lucky to be able to situate our site specific performance in a totally new site! We’re now working without some features we had in the old shop unit (like descending staircases!), and finding new alternatives. Exploring how this new space can bring new textures to the performance is really exciting.

Another highlight of the day was meeting the rest of the cast – the community performers, who include both familiar and new faces.  Seeing them rehearse the opening sequences was brilliant as those scenes really will have a different feel to them.

There are more performers this year, so the street scenes are feeling busier. There has also been time and scope for a little bit of reworking of some of the scenes, and so some new sections of script have been incorporated, and some new characters have been introduced!
